All pictures below
have the caption and description above the pictures. This view
is looking North to the High Peaks. The mountains on the horizon
are the Sewards and directly in back of them is Lake Placid,
just a short 35 minute ride by small plane. Long Lake is 14
miles long. In fact
Sigourney Weaver has a
summer home on the north end, to name just one of the privileged
few rich and famous who reside here part-time. Looking at this
picture below there is a small island on the lake, "left
center", look to the right and see the highway, further right
you see about 3 homes sloping up and to the right and this is my
lands. |
| |
 |
| |
|
Once again see the
island on the lake... it points towards a small cove and up from
there is the land. Looking up and a bit to the left is a dock
near the shore. This is
Camp
Hillary. They have cabins for rent and there is a remote
possibility after talking to them that you might be able to dock
a small boat there... maybe. They are very good folks. Don't forget to visit
Long Lakes
website... a bit "old school" just to show you they are a
few years behind in ways which does keep the town's charm. |

Just another good
shot looking directly at Camp Hillary on the lake and my land
right above them. You can make out the house which sits on my
Lot 1. Lot 2 is in back and to the left of this house. Peter and
Rosine Lemon own this home on Lot 1. They are older at this
point, early 70's "not that old" I guess, and are renowned
photographers. Wonderful to meet. To the right you can see
Highway 28/30 coming into Long Lake. |

 |
| |
|
Now the property is
on the right side and you can start to see the town of Long Lake
and the bridge crossing the lake on the left. |
| |
 |
| |
|
This is a shot of
the town of Long Lake which has about 900 permanent residents
and swells to some 3500 in the summer. Not too big. Everyone is
really friendly here and willing to help out. There is a great
feeling of being "home". |

 |
| |
|
Now you can see the
actual "sub-division" below. Camp Hillary is across the road. |
| |
 |
| |
|
You can see the
Blueberry Hill Motel on the road at the bottom left and the
Heathfield Park Road left of that. They have just in the last
year paved this road. Here you can see the driveway going into
Lot 2. There is a small sand pit on the left which is for
private use only and hardly any sand is removed anymore. Another
note... this land is in the "Hamlet of Long Lake" and is deemed
"Hamlet Land" by the Adirondack Park Agency. They have very
little control over Hamlet land other than to make sure you
don't build to close to wetlands which this property, Lot 2, has
none on. It may appear :wet in the lower portion of the land but
it is not "wetlands" by the APA and I have the paperwork from
them stating this. You may build a small cabin to a huge
mansion, park a trailer or motorhome etc. You can see it is very
clean land and neighbors are not a problem as well as trash.
This is a very neat community of homes and everyone loves it
that way. |
